My hand thrown pots are made to be used — to enhance the rituals of preparing and eating food, to hold flowers and assist knitters with yarn bowls. Making functional work connects me to the age-old tradition of artist craftsmen who make beautiful objects for daily use. I enjoy every aspect of making pottery, especially throwing and firing. The alchemy of transforming soft clay into finished pots always excites and inspires me. I make yarn bowls, butter bells, honey pots, serving bowls, mugs, garlic grater dipping bowls, pitchers, and vases and anything else that imagination throws my way.
Rainwater Pottery operates on a simple premise to provide functional pottery and assists cooks in preparation and serving of food, all pottery is environmentally safe and can be used in the microwave and dishwasher and bake ware can be used in the oven, I recommend starting ovenware in a cold oven.
