For over 35 years Russel traveled Texas and beyond as Executive Director of non-profit organizations promoting the development of renewable energy resources. Throughout that time he engaged in creative photography enjoying the captured images and framing many for his own and friend's enjoyment. Upon retirement in 2015 he has begun mining his photo library for images to share in broader circles and make available for sale to the public. He is framing most of his photos himself and has found considerable appreciation of his works. While some of his photos are from beyond its bounds, including in Mexico, his focus is largely on Texas. His eclectic and growing body of work includes landscapes, interesting scenes, candid people shots, flowers, abstracts, wildlife, buildings and architectural features. He sees beauty in the small things, in the vastness, in the seemingly barren, and in the darkness. Beauty is everywhere!
