This New Day is an American music duo composed of singer-songwriters Mike Cappelluti and Dana Rae Hembling. Their 4 song debut EP album “Coming Home” was released in January 2014 and was met with welcoming appraise. After meeting each other in 2010 the duo went right to work and continues to be a staple in the famous Asbury Park, NJ music scene .
In 2013 Dana was nominated for a Jersey Acoustic Music Award for Best Young Female Vocalist. Mike was also nominated for Best Young Songwriter and Best Instrumentalist.
Mike and Dana have made appearances at major venues across New Jersey such as the world famous Count Basie Theater, The Stone Pony, Six Flags Great Adventure, and The Bamboozle Music Festival in Asbury Park. In addition, This New Day has great compassion for non-profits such as the Make A Wish Foundation, Musicians on a Mission, and Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. These performances have kept the duo grounded and connected to the community, and they will never pass up an opportunity to give back to those in need.
