Bonham, Texas
Texas artist and musicians have always been notorious for adding there own flavor to any style of music. Rather it be Ray Wylie Hubbard and his Swampy backbeats, Willie Nelson and his chaotic perfection, or Don Henley who with the help from legendary band, The Eagles, would bring about the harmonious collision of rock & roll and country music that would forever redefine the boundaries of 'genres' in songwriting. It's with those type of artists in mind that the story of up and coming band, Wreck Road 3, could soon be aligned with. Wreck Road 3 draws their influence from classic bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Garth Brooks, and Led Zeppelin as well as modern artists like Chris Knight and Wade Bowen. Which would probably explain the familiar comfort you experience when hearing Wreck Road 3 for the very first time. Within moments of the opening chords you find yourself locked in to the music around you right before your unexpectedly enamored with the power of front man Jared Foreman's vocal presence. Likened to heavy hitters such as Joe Cocker and John Hiatt Jared has a resonance about his voice that can be felt from a mile away like some kind of a lyrical locomotive that shakes the walls as it passes by. As Jared explains, "It can take awhile to find yourself as an artist, but when you find what your looking for it just falls into place" and that's exactly what happened as Jared and fellow co-writer and bassist, Chad Hamilton, sat down with a life's long collection of lyrics from an old worn out note book followed by a desire to turn those words into memorable songs and in there hometown of Bonham, TX, at a designated rehearsal space along side Recreational Road #3 they would began piecing together the finished product. With the addition of lead guitarist Todd Foreman came the tasty Texas riffs that the Lone Star State is known for. Later, bringing in drummer Jesse Love to lay down a solid beat. So with an outlaw mentality and a clever twist to the abbreviated address of their rehearsal space,... Rec. Rd #3, the band Wreck Road 3 was complete. After sometime spent in the wood shed the guys grew confident that the time to hit the ground running had arrived. In the words of the band, "We just had to throw ourselves out there to see what happened". The results of that decision were tallied quickly after just a few shows as local radio stations and cable news providers such as KXII opened their doors to the band offering on-air interviews and live performances broadcast across all of North East Texas. It seemed the boys have barely gotten their feet wet before having to dive in head first to keep up with the swelling waves of support they received from their local music scene. And now with a full schedule of regional tour dates and an ever growing fan base, Wreck Road 3 recently reached out to Producer/Singer Songwriter and owner of The Sonic Solution Recording Studio Shawn Fussell, to help them construct their first EP. Due out in the Fall of 2016, The soon to be released compilation is a modest blend of what the band has to offer Featuring power ballads like "Something's Got To Give" (a song about breaking out of the everyday routine of life) and an instant classic, "The Love Song" (with lyrics any woman would melt over). Their debut album promises to be a great stepping stone to show their fans and the people in the industry that Wreck Road 3 is in it for the long haul. So if its a party your after, simply navigate yourself down the beaten path to the next Wreck Road 3 show and be sure to bring a designated driver to get you back home. You know? Just in case.
