1 Why do some events have old dates?
Our members have requested that we include events that have not been updated because the old information is usually still useful, even though you need to check for current dates and contacts. When you are trying to fill a certain weekend, events with old info are better than no event at all.

With over 25,000 events in our database, it is a unique challenge maintaining event updates. We make an intensive effort to get event updates and contact every event in our database 2 to 11 times a year by email, fax and snail mail, requesting updates. But, the event sponsors often will not respond to our many requests. We also constantly research other available sources to cull any available current data.

2 Why does the Deadlines Reminder newsletter have some old dates?
We make an intensive effort to get event updates, but some sponsors simply won't respond. When it comes to deadlines, they are usually around the same time each year, so if a deadline was in October last year, it will likely be in October again this year. We include these events to maximize your chances of not missing a great show. We do not publish deadlines that are more than a year old.

    3 What does Juried mean?
Juried events have a selection committee for art & craft exhibitors, and require that you submit slides or photos of your work or products. The selection committee (the jury) reviews all applications before choosing exhibitors for the event. Sometimes there is a nonrefundable jury fee for these events.

Jury standards (and jury fees) will vary a lot -- some are very selective, and others simply want to prevent too much repetition in event exhibitors.
