Waterford- RiverSpark Canal Fest is an annual festival held on Mother's Day weekend in May and coincides with the Spring opening of the Erie Canal Heritage Corridor.
The Waterford Festival is the first event along the entire Erie Canal Corridor, which covers 524 miles of navigable water from Lake Champlain to the Capital Region and west to Buffalo. This waterway is becoming more popular for tourism and commercial traffic. Waterford/RiverSpark Canal Festaverages 9,000 Visitors during the one-day event which is an excellent opportunity to showcase local businesses and the unique character of our historic Village.

'Canal Fest' features all-day, live music from popular, local bands; free activities for kids of all ages; a mix of Vendors offering quality items; exhibits and performances from area businesses and schools; and local Community Groups host concession stands for your dining pleasure!
Waterford Village and RiverSpark Hudson Mohawk Heritage Area inaugurated this Festival in 1986 to showcase the natural, cultural and historic attractions of the seven communities at the confluence of the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers. As the host, Waterford Village shows off our unique character, steeped in historic architecture, 19th and 20th Century hometown industrialists, and the charm of a community that lives on the water.
