Let me tell you a little about myself. I was born in Indonesia and I am a Dutch Citizen. My parents immigrated in 1960 to Camarillo, California, USA from the Netherlands.
I never thought that we ended up in the United States. I am so happy that we did, and ending up here in California what more perfect place to be.
Like many artists my love of art started in childhood. I remember winning my first Art contest when I was ten years old in Maastricht, Netherland.
My piece of art was used for their milk advertisement in a magazine and cash.
However for the last forty years, had a full time job and raised two kids and have five grandchildren that occupied my life. All the while my heart dreamed of one day to do my art full time.
Well the time has come. As a self-taught artist I treasured this gift that was given to me by God.

In the past I have worked with charcoal, acrylic, oils, watercolor, ink and color pencil. This let me to discover the love of color pencil as my media in 2003. Color pencil is a very relaxing medium for me; it is almost like meditations add times. Love to look at every detail, showing weather, showing weather torn edges and bug bitten leaves or each worn brick. I have always been fascinated and intrigued by the changing of the fall leaves, foggy sites of faraway mountains and plants.
My subjects range from architectural features and provincial landscapes and still lives. Most of my work depicts old villages and cityscapes of Europe and represent a few places where I have been. With color pencil I feel free to explore avenues of surrealism. A lot of people see my color pencil and think it must be pastel or watercolor, because I blend the colors so carefully you can’t see any pencil lines left.
My beliefs and personal experiences I also add a unique splash of love to my work.
