I grew up in Dallas, Texas. My parents were artists and all their friends were too. I remember being the weird neighbors that fired raku and tie-dyed in the backyard. My art was dance. I loved everything about movement and I still do. I went to college for visual arts and received my degree in Fine Arts. I fell into teaching art after having my daughter. I have now been teaching art for over 20 years. I also teach movement, I teach spin and a weights class that involves yoga, pilates and plyometrics. In 2011, I wanted to be able to teach a fibers project to my middle school kids and ordered a book to teach myself to weave. Everything about weaving spoke to me and I have been in love ever since. Weaving is now my art form of choice and I have been challenging myself ever since. I love to make baskets and have started to make very large pieces using many different fibers, colors and textures. I am currently learning to weave shawls and ponchos on a Mighty Wolf floor loom at White Rock Weaving Center in Dallas, Texas with Anna Barry, my wonderful teacher. I smile from my head down to my toes every time I walk into my class. The fun thing for me is that I get to be the student.
