The San Jose –based band focuses on “hard heavy rock, infused with punk, grunge and metal.” The band members met in late August 2012 has played various shows in the Bay Area. –Shallow Vices is that moment when punk shoves your face in it's crotch, just before jumping on it's Harley and driving off into the sunset – middle finger raised in tempestuous glory. Tapping punk legends like New York Dolls, The Misfits and The Stooges, Shallow Vices effortlessly combines the raw, attitude-laden grist of punk with a sound influenced by some of hard rock's greats (i.e. Sabbath, Motorhead and even The Cult). The E.P.s leadoff track sinks a heavy, wah-wah drenched riff into a bed of turgid drum and bass-work (played by Mike Uharriet and Clint Berg, respectively) and the snarling, aggressive vocals of Echo. The onslaught continues with the monster riffage of guitarist Allen Langone, , The future is bright for the Bay Area quartet of Shallow Vices. Their return to rock's roots prove refreshing, with strong riffs, powerful rhythms and a vocal constitution forged from the hammer of the rock gods.
