Mrs. Brown's Daughter was inspired by my mother, Dera Brown. Everything I do artistically, I owe to my dear mom. She could turn anything into magic. She made all my clothes, dance costumes and gowns without a pattern (until 10th grade when this teenager became too picky).
My husband, Larry Cook, took me to an art class when we were dating five years ago and I fell in love (with painting - I was already in love with my husband). I started painting college logos on the back of gliders that my husband restored. That work progressed to inspirational and creative signs on wood.
I still work full-time but every spare minute I spend building my inventory. Presenting my artwork at a few small festivals is my short-term goal and building up to festivals all over the south all year long.
Until then, Mrs. Brown's Daughter will be working hard to achieve her dreams.
