On May 14, Governor Walz issued Executive Order 21-23 which removed the requirement the statewide mask requirement, however, individuals who have not yet been fully vaccinated are encouraged to wear face coverings until they are fully vaccinated. The mask mandate remains in place for schools remains in place in accordance with the Safe Learning Plan through the end of the 2020-2021 school year or until June 13, 2021 for schools that operate year round.
