Hello, my name is Adam Johnston. I have been interested in art since an early age and have been painting intensely for about eight years . I work in oils and acrylics but mostly acrylics . I also dabble in spray paint art. I have many sources of inspiration .The realm of Expressionism and the idea of making something according to the way you see or feel is definitely inspiring to me. I do take inspiration from certain well-known and popular artists such as Bob Ross, Wilson Bickford and Michael Lang. I am mostly self-taught with the help of these masters methods, styles and techniques. I paint different subject matter, quite a variety all in all. These styles are mostly abstract, landscape, seascape and urban. I enjoy using a process which includes using a special depth creation technique glazing over transparent color layers to create acrylic abstracts. I use a Liquitex matte thinner for higher flow and translucency. . All together I find this gives me great freedom of expression. I like to paint large canvases- usually 24x48 inches for abstracts. My love for painting comes from seeing my completed work and the ways in which the challenges I set for myself are met. I hope you enjoy my work!
