Monroe's Downtown RiverMarket is quickly becoming the premier destination to shop and gather on the Ouachita River. Located in a designated Cultural District and surrounded by art galleries, the market's 2012 inaugural season opened to an overwhelmingly supportive crowd and vendor response. The market continues to create quite a "buzz" with locals as well as out-of-towners as the venue continues to grow.
The French-style market atmosphere showcases a variety of artisan and fine crafts, as well as produce and food. The market features live music and several heavily-attended special events throughout the season. Vendors set up under ornate covered pavilions nestled along the riverwalk, and the vendor area also extends into the parking lot.
