Aija Jantz

about - Aija Jantz

Aija creates works of art through both traditional media, using pastels, and in digital medium. She is intrigued by the use of digital processes and how it blends with traditional methods. She will use a stylus versus an actual brush to create the feeling of a painting or drawing. Aija is inspired by nature and animals and uses her own photographs as a basis for her digital art.

Aija's digital work is based in realism while her pastel work explores nature, through a more abstract view of the world. She brings out the essence of her subject matter by focusing on key elements and incorporating those into her abstracts.

As an avid outdoor enthusiast, biking, hiking and traveling provide Aija with opportunities to find inspiration and capture the photos that form the basis of her work. Often her subject matter is transformed from everyday occurrences into pieces of art. A butterfly on a sidewalk, a bear frolicking at the zoo, or a scene caught while enjoying the outdoors are only a few examples of how Aija builds connections between nature and art.

Aija Jantz is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. After several years in marketing, she continued her education and earned a Master of Business degree from Cardinal Stritch University. While spending the majority of her career in marketing, Aija finds that her artwork enhances her creativity. Aija enjoys developing art that not only brings joy to her, it connects to individuals who get to experience her work. Aija is owner operator of Tiny River Studio. She can be found at
