ALONZO GARBANZO [the stage name of Dennis M. Castañares] is a singer, instrumentalist, songwriter, and audio and video producer living and performing in the Columbia Gorge area of northern Oregon. He has been a solo performer and member of various bands (The Cowsills, The Odyssey, Christopher Milk, etc.) since 1964. With a 550+ repertoire of cover tunes ranging from 19th-century folk songs to Radiohead, and with several dozen originals as well, Alonzo is well-known for singing 3- and 4-hour marathons with no breaks and sometimes none even between songs. Assuming he doesn't hurt himself one of these days doing that, he is eager to play for any and all jolly gatherings of good folks in this region, and is willing to travel some as well. In Hood River, Alonzo has performed at a a majority of Hood River venues, including Trillium Cafe, Cebu Lounge, The Gallery at 301, Naked Winery, The Ruins, Springhouse Cellars, Moth Lounge, The Pines 1857 , Cascade Cliffs Winery, White Buffalo Winery, Stave & Stone, Solera Brewery, Grateful Vineyard, Wy'East Winery, Rivertap, Volcanic Bottle Shop, 10-Speed Coffee House, Double Mountain Brewery, etc., as well as house concerts in 2006 and 2010. As well, he's played at Zim's Brau Haus, the American Legion, RiverTap, and Clocktower Ales in the Dalles, and at many venues across the Columbia, such as Walking Man in Stevenson, Everybody's in White Salmon, Growlerz in Bingen, the Trout Lake Country Inn, and the Blue Barn in Dallesport.
