| I am an artist working in acrylics, chalk, pencils and some photography. I started drawing portraits as a teenager in chalks and pencils. Later on I realized I wanted a career in art. I started in desktop publishing and moved on to become a Graphic Artist, creating training manuals with art and promotional items for the Big 3 automotive companies. When I decided to stay home with my babies, I had a graphic design business creating promotional items and websites for local businesses including the Dickens Festival. Raising babies took a lot of my time, so the graphics business was dissolved. In 2011 I started taking painting classes at the Flint Institute of Art. Now I am exploring a variety of subjects. I take photos on my trips and find interesting subjects to put on canvas. I enjoy painting what I see and highlighting details that give depth and beauty. | |
