about - Bees' Works of Art, Oswego, IL
I am a Polymer Clay Artist specializing in original designed, 3- dimensional, hand-built, hand-painted, sculpted and carved Polymer Clay Christmas Ornaments. I also do original 3-dimensional Custom Christmas Ornaments of peoples' pets, or other chosen designs. In addition, I do original designed, hand-painted Glass Christmas Ornaments. All of my work is 100% created by me, from original design to final finish. In 2017, I was commissioned to make 14 Custom Ornaments for the Ho-Chunk Nation of Wisconsin. Each of the Ornaments, in my regular line, can take from 2 to 8 hours to build and additional time to paint. Even though I have many designs (approximately 26) for my regular Ornaments, each one is one of a kind, because no two are exactly alike. A Custom Ornament can take up to 14 hours to build, not including the time to paint it. That also doesn't include the time to create the original design.
I have an Associates Degree in Fine Arts and also an Associates Degree in Graphic Design. I love Ceramics and have created many wrapped slab and coiled ceramic pots and boxes. I used to make Bread Dough Christmas Ornaments, which I successfully sold for many years. My current venture was a way to include all of my previous experience and create a unique niche. When I was laid off from my job in 2009, as a Regional Operations Coordinator for a large International Pharmaceutical Company, I decided that it was time to launch my own Business, "Bee's Works of Art". I have successfully been in business for 9 years and sell my Ornaments, at Craft Fairs and Shows in Illinois. I also do commissioned 3-dimensional Paintings and Murals. I belong to the Naperville Art League and the International Polymer Clay Association.
