After having spent over 32 years in the military, I was ready for a new direction - one where I could be more "me" - just wasn't sure yet who that was! After about five years of exploring other options, I stumbled onto my bliss!
I had been looking at online auctions just for fun and when I began to see old, beaten up containers, I also began to see possibilities!
Claus Mountain Creations grew from my love of making something old into something new - "Repurpose, renew, relove" is my credo. I find unusual antique/vintage containers (pitchers, bowls, coffee/tea pots, mop buckets, matchbox holders, chamber pots, spittoons, wooden boxes, baskets, etc) and create beautiful and interesting (and often whimsical) arrangements using as many recycled supplies as possible (silk/fabric/dried flowers, Boyd's Bears, gourds, pine cones, moss, toys, rocks, etc) and only purchasing new supplies when absolutely necessary.
I have the ability to pick up a piece and envision the final product - almost instantly knowing what I want to do with the specific container and I will search through my inventory of beautiful supplies and begin the process of creating a one-of-a-kind treasure. NO TWO ARE ALIKE!!!! Each and every piece that comes from my shop is like nothing ever seen before because I cannot bring myself to duplicate even if using similar containers and/or flowers. Maybe this comes from so many years of uniformity in my previous life as a soldier!
I also take custom requests - I have done a beautiful arrangement using a silver tray with teapot, sugar bowl and creamer for a dining room centerpiece. And if you have a particular piece already and would like a unique arrangement done with your own treasure, I can surely accommodate!
