A little about Community Missions

Founded in 2004 as a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) organization, Community Missions strives to eliminate chronic homelessness in Northwest Missouri.

Community Missions provides safe, affordable and supportive services for low and moderate income men with disabilities who have been chronically homeless. To accomplish this, Community Missions owns and manages two apartment style buildings, Juda House and St. Joseph’s Haven.

Providing housing to 34 men in 16 studio and 9 semi-private apartments, Juda House and Haven form the core of services and support that help mend who have lost everything, to heal them and their relationships with family and friends, while reintegrating into society.

Community Missions also offers emergency shelter to men living in the street during the coldest part of the year. My Brother’s House opens mid-December and runs through mid-March.

Lastly, Community Missions operates the 8th Street Drop-in Center where people in the community can use services such as laundry and showers for free, as well as get free clothing.

These projects form the foundation for a comprehensive approach to providing supportive housing for men whose addictions, mental health, and other barriers have resulted in ongoing and recurrent homelessness.
