Mary Kay Cosmetics was founded in 1964 by Mary Kay Ash. Mary Kay wanted a company that would provide women the opportunity to help support their families. She believed in the power of women and lived each day to enrich the lives of others. The Mary Kay Foundation, created by Mary Kay Ash in 1996, funds research grants to help find a cure for cancers affecting women. It also funds women's shelters and offers financial support to organizations that raise awareness the problem of domestic violence against women.
