ABOUT ME
My name is Jess; I'm an adult with autism and the owner of Designer Beads by Jess. I learned to do beading during my job training internship at Community Hospital North my last year of High School. During the internship, it was difficult for me to work independently, so instead, I worked on a project making meditation beads for hospital patients and patients at Community North Cancer Center.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
During the internship, I really enjoyed making the meditation beads so we created my Etsy page, Designer Beads by Jess, as a way for me to continue doing what I enjoyed once the internship was finished.
The past two years I have continued making bracelets and at home with my mom and a lot of people have purchased them. Designer Beads by Jess has various bracelets and keychains: autism awareness charms, college charms and professional sports charms. We can also make custom bracelets or keychains.
WHY I DO WHAT I DO
I am very proud of my work and I thank you for supporting me. At the end of the day, I like making jewelry because it makes me happy to make people smile.
