Gerle Haggard Band brings the best of Merle Haggard's timeless music to dyed-in-the-wool fans while introducing his well known hits, obscure singles and early work, as well as The Hag's own carefully chosen covers from artists such as Bob Wills and Jimmie Rodgers, to a whole new audience and the next generation of Outlaw Country and Western Swing listeners. This eight-piece, all-female ensemble features a terrific line-up of musicians who weave original instrumentation, tight harmonies and a big heap of showmanship into a full-throttled entertainment event. Our engaging performances have been described as "Feral, Female and Funtastic," and delight audiences of all ages.
Gerle Haggard Band has more than three hours of material and can tailor set lists to conform to nearly every kind of entertainment event, from raucous and rowdy to a more toned down performance. We have performed at a variety of festivals such as Oregon Country Fair, The Bite of Oregon, Portland Rose Festival, PDX EXPO Drive-In Movie Spectacular, Santa Cruz Mountain Brewery SausageFest and the Silverton Sidewalk Shindig.
