The Humane Society of York County (HSYC) located in Fort Mill, SC, is a no-kill shelter for abandoned dogs and cats. Our mission is to prevent animal suffering; to help reduce overpopulation by promoting spaying and neutering; to educate the public about animal welfare,
to place adoptable animals in loving homes.
We advocate for animal rights legislation, and promote the punishment of animal abusers. We give abandoned animals a “second chance”. This organization was founded in 1976 to help address the needs of an ever-growing animal population where we originally cared for all all animals in the homes of dedicated volunteers.
