Skolptir - definition: Undefined; The same as my molecular impersonations of imaginary objects. I chose "Skolptir as a visual art form because it has been a non-existent term until I chose it to define my works. My Skolptirs have been non-existent forever until now.

"Sculpture is the branch of the visual arts that operates in three dimensions. It is one of the plastic arts."

Plastic arts are art forms which involve physical manipulation of a plastic medium by molding or modeling such as sculpture or ceramics. Less often the term may be used broadly for all the visual arts (such as painting, sculpture, film and photography), as opposed to literature and music. Materials for use in the plastic arts, in the narrower definition, include those that can be carved or shaped, such as stone or wood, concrete, glass, or metal.

The term "plastic" has been used to mean certain synthetic organic resins ever since they were invented, but the term "plastic arts" long preceded them. The term should not be confused, either, with Piet Mondrian's concept of "Neoplasticism". (Mostly random assembles of stuff. Not at all imaginary)

Although my objects utilize plastic 3D prints and plastic objects such as pipes and connectors, I also utilize wood and other such malleable materials. SKOLPTIRS are closely related to Conceptual Art rather than Plastic Art. All of the planning and decisions are made beforehand and the execution is a perfunctory affair. Whether or not my works are Intentional vs. Conceptual is an argument that must be debated with those who do not understand my work; for I make SKOLPTIRS for the fun of it. Call it whatever is satisfactory in your own outlook. My SKOLPTIRS are copies of existing figments of my imagination. That said, I visit my mental place and find figments which suit my feelings. Following that, I proceed to manufacture a realistic SKOLPTIR with the intention of making a close as possible molecule based thing. My Skolptirs are not my "inventions" as they existed in my mind before I ever knew about them. If they didn't exist in my mind, I could never create such a thing as my imagination is only a translator of my figments. The business of copying a figment and making a counterfeit real thing is what I do to the best of my ability and sense of natural balance.

Now, on the other hand, there is the business of "Artistic Skill". Ha, Ha! I am what I am, It is what it is. And don't even bring up Installation Art, Performance Art, Electronic Art. I have neither the will nor the desire to join those clubs. Call me what you want or just leave me be with “undefined, unexplained figments”; "Skolptirs" definition suits me just fine.
