Hello, I hand stitch patterns on Cross Stitch,Aida fabric then I either put the completed/finished pieces into a store bought or a hand made picture frame that I cut out,and put together then hand painted. I also place my items of Basket Liners into either a store or online store bought wicker baskets that are used as a gift basket. Next I also sew my items with cotton fabric, canvas or burlap to make a wall hanging, tote bag,or draw string bag and a pillow. I have an Etsy Shop that I started in April 2017, that has been doing pretty good. In the past 20 years I have been a Vendor in several Craft shows, or Bazaars in the Raleigh, Wake Forest, Wendell and Fayetteville area. I have always wanted to be a vendor at the Christmas Carousel Holiday Gift Market show, for the past few years but I have never been able to due to my job or taking care of family matters. I am now on ss disability due to a hit and run, road rage car accident due to the negligence of the other driver. I was in a wheel chair then I had back surgery but I still walk with a cane. To keep me from being bored to death, I work on my crafts when I am able to do them.
I enjoy hand stitching Cross Stitch patterns and to be able to look at a finished piece and have family, friends and future buyers say "Wow! Did you really make that by hand? That is beautiful and very exquisite art work, you are so talented" and I'd reply " Why yes I did, and thank you very much. I enjoy making hand stitched Cross Stitch patterns come to life for others to enjoy having in their own home or to give as a gift to their loved ones!" When I was around 10 or 11 years old my Mother started making hand made Cross Stitch pieces for our family and friends to give on special occasions or holidays to have as Keepsake gifts. I would watch her create some beautiful pieces that were just amazing. Then one day when I was about 13 years old, I asked my Mother if she would teach me because I wanted to make my grandmother a similar/replica pattern that I found of her little shitzu dog "Tutu". So my Mother took the time to teach me and I caught on very quickly like I was a natural. So I made that pattern of Tutu and gave it to my Grandparents for Christmas that year. My Grandmother was so amazed and my Grandfather said "Oh my goodness this picture looks like a painting, you can see every little intricate detail in each of the colors that is so unreal and amazingly perfect!" They immediately hung that picture on their wall right at the front door so everyone that came to visit them would see it and enjoy it as much as they did. I was so happy that they were able to enjoy that picture of their little dog that I continued for the next 40 years, making all different types of patterns into many types of handmade crafts for everyone to enjoy and love. I still have a few pieces that my mother made but not many due to a fire and was only able to save a few. I still have the piece she made 2 of an exact relipca of the Presbyterian church that she was married in, I was Christened in and she sung in the Choir and we attended when I was younger. One for the church and one for my grandmother. My Mother passed away 5 years ago, so I still carry on the legacy that my Mother taught me because this is a very hands on type of craft that you have to have patience and passion for to make, because it can be tedious and time consuming. I just really enjoy hand stitching pieces and making them come to life on the fabric. I hope to keep continuing to be able to share my passion with everyone around me.
