I am 58, work part time for a merchandising co., married, with his parents living with us who I care for, we live in Mulberry. I have been crafting since I was 14, it's something I have always enjoyed. Started out making Christmas ornaments and wreathes, crocheting, dream catchers and plastic canvas. I would work for 3 month's at a time, then sell them in my front yard and church sales during the holidays. Here I am 40 yrs. later and the passion is as strong as it was then. I make jewelry using beads, shells, stones etc. necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and barefoot sandals. Every piece is one of a kind and unique. I follow no patterns nor do I copy someone else's idea. I even make my own displays.
I take pride in my jewelry making. I really don't have a company, it is just me working on my pieces between a part time job and caring for my in-laws. I sell every couple of month's in my front yard, mostly by word of mouth, someone seeing and asking. Sometimes I have a dry spell and other times do well. I have never really tried a festival, I would always talk myself out of it for one reason or another. . However I have done a lot of soul searching and I have faith and belief in myself. I try to inspire the younger generation to follow their creative dreams and not give up, you will never know unless you try, and if you fail once try again.
