Soapbyrustyb.com came into being in 2007 after years of searching for a way to help my dry skin. Montana winters were misery, and our shopping cart always held a new and reportedly better lotion or cream for me to try. One day, while traveling in middle Mt. I purchased a bar of peach scented soap. I had made soap many times before, but I had done it without a lot of thought to adding too many emollients for the sodium hydroxide to saponify...this process is called "superfatting." I had also not given a great deal of thought to using luxury oils in my soap. Within a few days I noticed that my skin was softer; more moisturized. Soon I was no longer using any creams or lotions, and best of all I no longer had itcy, dry skin.
It took some years of formulating my recipe, and reading, and experimenting before I felt ready to sell my product. It began with gifts to my family and friends. Soon I had orders to fill, and a spot at the local Farmer's Market. The website: wwwsoapbyrustyb.com came into being in late 2007. Then I was given the greatest gift of all...repeat customers.
