We were doing a show in Ohio
When a call came to the stage

We closed that show, loaded our gear
And we hit the road again

And the weathers setting in

Pulled out to pass taillights in the
pouring rain
He said, it’s gotta be a Cadillac
I know that we can beat him Jack
Hollar if he changes lanes
We were closing in, I was noticing
Something bout the car looked strange

Well, we pulled up beside her
Got even with the driver
He was laughing and spitting flames
Shouting pour on the coal
We got a full load of souls
Ain’t nothing gonna get in our way
Well daddy kept on going
The whistle kept blowing
Calling out the riders names

Everybody knows a big dodge hemi
And a caddie are an even race
But a black locomotive full of fire and steam
Rolling and gaining pace
Is a thing to be avoided
If you know you can’t destroy it
So give it lots of space
And never ask the devil
If he’d like to have a race

We can handle two more
We’ll catch you at the crossing ahead

Well that whistle was screaming
As we crossed the tracks
Just an inch from eternal pain
I swear I could see the devil dancing
In the fire as we drove away
