Sunshine developed her skills by attending a variety of classes taught by other successful jewelry artists in person or online. Because her handmade pieces (when worn by her in public) were often admired by complete strangers, at retirement, Sunshine decided to create supplemental income by selling her creations at local craft fairs and farmers markets. Her husband joined her for silversmith classes, where he discovered his design talents, and also creates one-of-a-kind pieces .
