I started Survival Sister because I was disappointed in the survival/hunting/SHTF stuff out there for women. I didn't just want to get the usual black, gray, khaki, or camo stuff that was available so I began to research and didn't find what I was looking for so I decided to start my own business.
The whole idea was to have one place where you could find apparel and other merchandise that was a bit more feminine, in fun and bright colors. Let's face it in most scenarios bright is better. Who wants to look like one of the guys?
I began with conceal carry purses. On the internet they ranged from real blingy to plain but were all pretty darn expensive. I decided that I was going to cater to women like me that didn't have a small fortune to spend on these things. After talking to women and doing some research, I have found that most women were looking for nice 'normal' looking purses that happened to be able to carry a concealed weapon. Don't get me wrong I still have the occasional purse that is a bit blinged out but hey they are fun sometimes!
I have added t-shirts that are bright and feminine, colorful hats, lightweight hammocks, pepper spray, and knives with plans to add even more items.
I have a store on eBay and do local craft shows.
