A quick history on The Night Flight:
Michael Joy, our main songwriter/lead vocalist has provided original music for numerous projects and has 2 CD's (Rivulet Records) released on iTunes, Magnatune, and was featured on XM (Satellite) Radio, Jango Radio, and Pandora.
Christian Thompson came out of Berklee College of music and worked in recording studios and touring the U.S. and Asia, finally settling in the San Francisico Bay Area. His bluesy slide guitar skills and vocal harmonies are a potent component of the The Night Flight sound.
Jesse Strauss has played bass since he discovered it as his instrument in the 7th grade. Since then, he's played in various groups during stints living across four continents as a musician, journalist, student and rebel.
Philip Coffin grew up playing drums from a very young age in the well-known Berkeley schools music program, and studied and performed in the award winning Berkeley High School Jazz program. After college, Philip played in a number of rock, neo-soul, brazilian, and jazz groups in NYC and Oakland. Nowadays, Philip is enjoying playing less notes, and focusing on playing well-chosen figures, thoughtful dynamics, and subtle statements on the drums.
Night Flight also performs covers:
