University of West Georgia graduate. Retired teacher since 2002. I have practiced on the potter's wheel experimenting with techniques on and off for 30 yrs+. i would collect the silt out of mud puddles as a child and create sculptures of me pets. They were crude, but that's what it is all about. My first experience witht the wheel was in college, but I actually learned with the help of my first student teacher. She showed me the basics and I would throw while she taught my class.
I discovered the fun of glass in 2003. I experimented with recycled bottles and broken scrap glass. I made windchimes with driftwood and these melted bottles. I now incorporate my ceramics into the chimes also. Most of my materials are recycled. including my clay.
My husband says I save everything.
