Born in Columbus, Georgia, Garn Bugby spent most of his youth in Midwest City, Oklahoma, where he studied art extensively throughout his secondary education, receiving private commissions and numerous awards in statewide competition for several years.
Mr. Bugby studied as an undergraduate in southern California, eastern WashingtonState and then transferred to BrighamYoungUniversity in Provo, Utah where he received his BA in 1974 and his MFA in 1977. He was part of the art department teaching staff at BYU for three years. Garn has received numerous awards in fine arts for both juried and invitational art exhibitions from California to Utah to Michigan.
For a number of years Mr. Bugby worked as a commercial artist, illustrator and designer. He served as the Art Director at EE Multimedia Productions, Inc., a producer of business & educational CD titles. As the Creative Art Director for Silver Creek Digital Media for three and half years, he guided the successful completion of several national & international business projects. He also served as the Creative Marketing Director for the Horizon Dental Group of West Jordan, Utah for 5 years.
Garn has traveled and exhibited throughout the intermountain states of Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, Montana, Arizona and Colorado for several years. During this time he has sold several hundred paintings to private collectors throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
More recently, Garn has been involved with free-lance illustrating and designing and lives in Taylorsville, Utah with his family.
