Still Sixteen
By Vickie Russell and John Witter c2008
She still sees his long blond hair
Though it's mostly gray
If she wears that old tee shirt
He sees lingerie
When she pulls him near
His heart kicks into gear
The years fall away
Two kids at play
In their faded blue jeans
They're still sixteen
Still sixteen
She thinks he is always right
He thinks she's never wrong
Neither of them wins a fight
That's how they get along
His voice sounds the same
As the first time he said her name
She's still got that sway
That led him astray
In heir faded blue jeans
They're still sixteen
Still sixteen
People said when they first met
Wouldn't last too long
All these years with no regrets
Guess they proved them wrong
The water's still cold
At that same swimmin' hole
There's no one around
This far from town
As they slip off their jeans
They're still sixteen
Still sixteen
