Originally known on the art show circuit as Savanah's Designs Glass Studio since 1997, I re-named my studio "Way Beyond Self" this year to reflect a new direction in my work. Initially focusing on creating art work celebrating breast cancer survivorship, it very quickly morphed into creating work that celebrates all things survivorship (all cancers/disease; domestic abuse; addiction; loss of a loved one; trauma from an accident; PTSD; human trafficking; divorce, etc.). I also do commissioned art pieces. All of my work is hand-made by me alone; using multiple layers of either sheet, crushed or powdered glass specifically made for kilnwork.
Some of my work includes:
Survivor Mask Pendants
Survivor Mask Wall Hangings (mounted in shadow boxes)
