I have always enjoyed working with wood. In high school I was able to attend some woodworking classes and make some furniture for my family.
A few years ago I bought a wood lathe to help me relax after a hard day at work. I was hooked. At first I just made a few ink pens for family and friends. Then people started asking me to make larger objects like vases and bowls for them to give as gifts.
After more encouragement, I agreed to open a display at a local craft fair. Now I look forward to going to more, meeting customers and vendors and providing a gift for that special person in their life.
It is a great feeling for someone to appreciate something you create with your own hands.
