She was in the eighth grade the night she first met him
At the youth group gatherin’ they were introduced by friends
Couldn’t take their eyes off each other the whole night through
They both knew nobody else could ever do
So they danced
Doop Dah Do Do Wa
Yeah, they danced on and on
Doop Dah Do Do Wa
She was hometown beauty, rarely left mother’s side
He was youth group president, had a real spark in his eye
He knew that very first night he was gonna have her for his bride
And he was gonna love her ‘til the very, very end of time
And they would dance
Doop Dah Do Do Wa
Yeah, they’d dance on and on
