FestivalNet Artists and Crafters News
September 2018

Standing in a booth with your art, surrounded by dozens of other artists and hundreds, maybe even thousands, of people is a pendulum swing of contrast from the typical artists' solitude in the studio! Preparation is the key to a smooth transition between solitude and selling. For some great tips, read on.

Helping thousands transition from blindness to sight is the mission of Seva.org. Find out more about this month's Giving Tree non-profit, below.

Happy Autumn!

By Belinda Del Pesco

Being prepared before presenting your art to the public is what makes art shows mangeable and fun to attend. I've got some tips to help you prepare for exhibiting and talking about your art at a show. Grab a notepad and let's dig in!

1. Prepare for common questions

Grab a beverage and write (writing vs typing helps you retain information) brief, friendly answers in your notepad to questions that might be asked.

• How did you make this?
• Is there a story behind this painting?
• How long did it take you to paint this?
• Can I get this with a different frame?
• What's the difference between printmaking and a print I'd buy at Target?
• Do you have a website where I can look at more, or buy something online?

Featured Events on FestivalNet!

Did you know that it is a free service for promoters to list their events on our site? We do this so we can provide you with the most events on one website. We take pride in offering all types of events - from street fairs to craft shows, music festivals, fine art fairs, themed events, expos, & holiday fairs.

Some promoters want more exposure beyond the free listing and opt to become a Featured event - whether they want to reach more attendees or get more vendors to apply, we praise these festivals for going the extra mile with their event-marketing on FestivalNet! Take a minute and peruse current featured events any time by bookmarking our Featured Events Page!

The FestivalNet Giving Tree

Minimizing suffering and poverty by restoring sight to thousands is the mission of Seva.org. The non-profit believes repairing sight breaks the poverty cycle, leads to education, opportunity and empowerment, and builds a better tomorrow for millions. An estimated 253 million people live with vision impairment or blindness. More than half of them are women and girls. Thankfully, 75% of all vision impairment can be prevented or cured. In fact, half of the world's blindness is caused by cataracts, a condition that can be reversed with a 15-minute operation. The non-profit Seva works to ensure that sight is for everyone.

Our IT guru, Richard chose Seva to receive a portion of FN's gross profits this month. See all our apples on our Giving Tree page!
