Hi my name is Athena, and I've been a face painter for 17 years now. I have two degrees in art and textile design from F.I.T.
I started out as a textile designer in NYC where I worked for 15 years. I left that field to raise my child.
My son asked me to face paint at his 3rd birthday party. I naturally said yes, but wasn't sure if I'd be any good at it. Well the response was amazing. Every mother at that party asked me for a business card. I told them that I don't face paint for a living, and they said... well you should! So I did! And here I am 17 years later and I absolutely love my job!!
My happiest moments are when I see the reactions I get when a child sees his/her painting for the first time. That surprise smile and excitement is always so rewarding to me.
