I am excited to be apart of your community. I would like to start by saying I am wondering what the best way to go about choosing the right events to go to. I am on a budget for spending fees on events as a vendor. I am just starting out and have bought an RV to travel the next 2 months up the east coast to promote and sell my items. Is there a good way to pick and choose the right events? I sell custom made beach bags, totes, pillows and other knick knacks. Thanks you very much, Cassandra

Wow! I'm excited for you and just a wee bit jealous! ;) I'm new to this too and am trying to find my way. If you have to watch what you're spending for vendors fees, I would yelp (because shoppers will use yelp before they would rate a show on a vendor oriented site) different "flea" markets and village farmers markets near the coast that are on your route. The space fees are usually low and that way you can get a feel for the community as well as make a little scratch to put towards overhead and bigger shows. Have you thought about concerts at all? I know at some shows people "tailgate" their stuff in the parking lots. They do at DMB concerts anyway.

That's a complicated question. We started off doing little craft shows for $25 a space. That was several years ago and we have outgrown the $25 spaces. With a lesser costing space you will have less people coming to the shows. We have found the better shows are pricy, sometimes too pricy, but you get what you pay for. Check FNO's attendence scores. The higher the attendence, the more people, the more people, the more money you may make. We limit our shows to "buying" events like Christmas. Other than that, other holidays are a crap shoot. Good Luck
