A Jersey girl from birth, Theresa was born in Passaic, NJ and presently resides in Westwood, NJ. Drawing has been a large part of her life since her teenage years and is a necessary escape for the times when life gets hectic. “To lose oneself in a drawing, to shut the world out around you and to become immersed in your very own creation is invigorating.”

Drawing on her own most her life she is self-taught however, in 2005, Theresa began drawing instruction classes with artist Jerry Winick of Pencil Works Studio in Little Falls, NJ. Jerry is an accomplished artist who has won over 300 awards for his work throughout the metropolitan area. Studying with Jerry has taken Theresa's drawing ability to a new level.

Her works are photo realistic, graphite drawings in black and white. Her process begins by selecting a subject, paying particular attention to the distinctive lights and darks of the subject which will enhance the drawing. Once the selection of the subject is made, the size of the finished piece is determined and graphed out on 16x20 Cason Bristol plate/smooth paper. This ensures the correct scale is used throughout the layout process. After that the fun begins by using varying HB graphite pencils to complete the drawing. Recently Theresa has been concentrating on animal portraits, in particular..........dogs, “man's best friend”.
