I photograph and then draw portraits of birds (mostly chickens) using colored pencils.
I sell originals, prints, greeting cards, tea towels, mugs, and other items with my drawings on them.
I've always been a bird lover and I love drawing so once I got my own flock of four chickens in the spring of 2017, I decided it was time to draw their family portraits. Their individual personalities inspired me.
Finally, I realized that birds, maybe especially chickens, don't get recognition or respect for being individuals with lives and personalities of their own. It was time to share this with other people and I figured that chicken owners and other bird lovers might appreciate my artistic goal of depicting the fantastic looks and individual characters of these amazing and beautiful subjects. Since then, I've also added wild birds and other pet birds to my portfolio.
