This bowl of walnut, chestnut and zebrawood measures nearly 11" across the rim and 4" deep. Set it on a special shelf or on the table where others can see and enjoy it. Walnut is common enough throughout eastern and central US, but the magnificent chestnut trees of 100 years ago are now gone due to the blight. This chestnut wood was salvaged from an old house. In fact, a plugged nail hole reminds us this is repurposed wood. The zebra wood brings together the dark of the walnut and the light of the chestnut. This bowl can be used to serve salad or snacks. The finish is polyurethane, which is durable and food-safe.
