Big Beautiful Baltic Amber Sterling Silver Cuff Bracelet
The smooth stone has a multiple of edges and is a deeply rich brown golden color with many inclusions. 1 3/4" x x 1" x 2 1/2" face. Adjustable band. Amber is fossilized tree resin. It has formed from resin that oozed out of the cracks in the bark of trees millions of years ago. Sometimes the sticky resin captured insects and other organic matter. Left to harden and then buried in sediments the amber endured, capturing an ancient moment in time. Amber although considered a gem, amber is a fossilized resin (not sap) that occurs in a variety of colors.
It originated in dense forests between 10 and 100 million years ago. Inclusions such as minerals, plant
materials and animals allow modern scientists to collect valuable information about extinct species.
