Tracking Expenses In A Mobile Business
by Robert Berman

Keeping track of expenses in any business can be a very frustrating exercise and even more exasperating for a business that is on wheels and moves to numerous locations throughout a state and/or country.

Food concession operators face this challenge each and every day.

Small expenses such as gas, a refill of propane, a container of cooking oil or something as simple as a new mop can, over a period of a year add up to hundreds of receipts and even more important thousands of dollars. Read more

FNO Tip: Pro Member Level 3
by Julie

compare levelsSome of you Level 1 and Level 2 members might not know about the coolness we provide you with our Level 3 membership. In addition to more band width for extra photos and video in your profile, the export tool is super handy, and is what I will discuss in this tip.

If you need help staying organized and keeping your festival contacts in order, then the Level 3 FNO Pro Membership can help you.

First of all, you get all the swag that Level 2 offers including the MY LIST feature (allowing you to save events to view later). With the Level 3, you get to export those shows to your computer as a CSV file (which basically means it's a file that opens in spreadsheet software like Excel). You can also upload your exported file to your contact manager program.

If all of this is mumbo jumbo to you, you may or may not read on, but the good news is, we here at the FNO office are happy to help you with this process if you're interested in upgrading to Level 3. Basically, with a few clicks of the mouse you can have your festival contacts (up to 1,000 exports per year) on your hard drive, to do with as you see fit.

This is what people do with this perk:

  • copy and paste the column of email addresses to utilize a mail program or send multiple festivals an email
  • create labels for sending snail mail
  • keep track of bookings (organize by month, location, etc)
If you want to upgrade to Level 3, head on over to your "My Account" area and click "Upgrade/Renew" on the right.

There are more details about Level 3 on the member's tab of our FAQ page here.
