Greetings

I am excited to be a new member of FNO.  Websites like this are so helpful to new authors.  I wanted to share a little bit about myself. I live in Granada Hills, CA with my husband, Ben and Yellow Lab, Champ. My
inspiration to write Beyond The Pond came from actual events and visitors to my own backyard pond. When my first grandson was born, I wanted to pass along the secrets of Pinecone Pond to him. After all, I already had most of my characters -- I just gave them voices on a page.

With a 28 year career of writing insurance investigation reports, I decided to take a frog leap out of that pond of fact, to writing fiction. Beyond The Pond is a blend of truth, fiction and fantasy, woven with the gospel message. I believe in the central truths of the Christian faith that the Bible is God's only word to us today, and that Jesus Christ is Savior. I am a member of Valley Presbyterian Church, (PCA), North Hills, CA, and confirms the Apostle's Creed as my confession of faith, stated below:

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy *catholic (*worldwide) church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

I founded Cedar Light Publishing as a way to publish my first children's novel. The company name comes from one of the elements in the story.

Olivia takes a tiny Cedar wood chip with her on a dangerous journey to light her way in a dark world far from the pond. This is a reminder to trust in Christ, the Light of the World, and allow Him to guide you on the right path. Let your light shine at school, in your neighborhood and all around town, reflecting that:

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:14
