I continue to carve bears in several poses with my chainsaws. I use native white pine logs that I get from local tree removal companies. I finish my carvings by burning them with a torch and removing the ash with brushes. Then I coat them with a blend of linseed oil, polyurethane, and other ingredients. The bear carvings can be kept inside or outside. I want to make people aware that some cracking is possible. Constant and direct exposure to the sun is the biggest cause of cracking. Cracking can sometime actually add to the charm of a wooden bear! Please check out my bears at the Pinske Gallery located on Rte.103 in Chester, Vermont.
