Acts of Courage
By Karen Haslett, posted August 29, 2012
My name is Karen Haslett. I am a retired school psychologist with a passion for helping and encouraging. Last year I was heartbroken about the news stories of young people ending their lives because of bullies. Research taught me that 1 in every 6 kids are bullied today in schools. I couldn't just know that and do nothing, so I wrote a book. It will be published in early October and is entitled Acts of Courage. It is a small work, but used in conjuction with what schools are already doing to address the subject of bullying, it could save lives. The skills are taught by a teacher to kids ages 8-12 before they reach the peak time of bullying: junior high. Please watch for it on Amazon, Barnes and Nobel and maybe, right here or at a Fall Festival near you! |
