This past weekend I met with the Cavallo's for a family and maternity photo shoot. The shoot took place at their house. This is a beautiful family with two young kids, so it was a great place to catch candid photos. Having the family, especially the little ones, in their own element brings the sense of comfort that studios don't/can't bring. Its less forced and more natural.
Sarah (the mom) wanted some photos of the family on the trampoline; so all dressed in white shirts and blue jeans they piled onto the trampoline. This was a hard place to shoot because the kids wanted to jump, the lighting was a little harsh and it was hard to have a steady stance to shoot with. At the same time it was great to catch the candid photos of the kids playing. My favorite photos are the "in between moments" where I'm able to catch the true emotion and feeling. I was able to trick the kids to pose (for a lack of words) by asking them to look for birds in the trees or can you show me your eyes.
