Based in Asheville, North Carolina, the FestivalNet support staff is seeing first hand the devastation caused by the recent storm. So many artists with studios in the beloved River Arts District lost everything.
Following two days of heavy rainfall in Asheville as Helene moved north, the river experienced a historic surge. Buncombe County received up to 12 inches of rain between Wednesday and Friday, saturating the ground and rendering it soft, unable to control the deluge of stormwater that wreaked havoc and devastation along its path.
The non for profit organization CERF+ can help artists start to get back to doing what they do best.
CERF+ offers $3,000 Emergency Relief Grants to craft artists who experienced a recent and substantially disruptive emergency or disaster. To apply, visit their website and complete the online application with supporting documentation. For questions, contact programs@cerfplus.org or (802) 229-2306. If you are assisting an artist in an emergency situation, you may apply on their behalf provided you have their permission. Ensure the artist meets the eligibility criteria and gather all necessary contact information and materials required for the application.
Sending our love to everyone effected by these recent hurricanes.Â
